Bewiched, on Church Street in Wellingborough, already has coffee houses in Kettering, Corby and Peterborough, is planning to refurbish the station cafe before re-opening to customers.
They have applied to Wellingborough Council for planning permission to take the station cafe back to its roots, including exposing original brickwork where possible, replacing frosted panes in listed windows with clear panes and sympathetically restoring the original ceiling with hanging pendants.
They want to install some high seating in the room with the counter, and the new seating area will be fitted with comfortable seating and tables.
Speaking to the Northamptonshire Telegraph Bewiched Managing Director Matt Fountain, said: “We are looking at taking it back to its 1850 roots.
“It will be very much the same as our current cafes in Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering and Peterborough.”

Bewiched had already been looking at opportunities to open a branch at a train station when they were approached by East Midlands Trains and Network Rail to see if they were interested in the tender for the cafe at the station in Midland Road.
The train café will be Bewiched’s fifth site and they are also in negotiations over opening a drive-thru coffee house.
But even with lots in the pipeline, Matt said they are always looking for new opportunities to expand.
He said: “We have looked at Northampton three times now and agreed deals but they have fallen through.
